While there is no release date for the Linux port of Star Trek Online, it is encouraging to see that the game may soon be playable on a wider range of platforms. The announcement was made on the official Star Trek Online forums, where a member of the development team said that the Linux port is currently in the early stages of development. That may be about to change, however, as developer Cryptic Studios has announced that it is working on a Linux port of the game. Since its release in 2010, Star Trek Online has been playable on Windows and macOS, but not on Linux.
